Had a big Canadian goose in the yard yesterday. Little doxie wanted to get him bad. I didn't let him out. I knew he'd get his butt kicked.

So what kind of Canadian goose was it?

I had about a dozen Canada geese in my front yard yesterday. I don't think they flew in from Canada though and thus weren't Canadian to the best of my knowledge; they pretty much hang around here. Of course my front yard amounts to about 50 acres.

You might be surprised what a dauschhound can do. Especially a standard. I'm not a little dog person. My "puppy" is an 9 month 85lb Catahoula. But a dauschhound is no slouch in the sporting world.

Canadian Geese are afraid of dogs by nature. My Uncle had about 6 of them nesting on his pond and one day he heard a ruckis and saw somebody's dog barking at them. He went down to pond to chase off the dog and while he was yelling at the dog the drake ran up behind him and stuck it's head and neck out between my uncles legs and started giving the dog all kinds of "H". One of the funniest things I've ever seen.

I think your little daushound would have held his own.

If you ever get a goose problem get yourself a Border Collie, their crouching and predatory stair just drives geese nuts and scares the heck out of them.

We use them around here in North Carolina to chase geese off, they don't even have to do anything, just be there.

How'd ya know it was Canadian, did you see its passport?

For those not getting the joke:

"The Canada goose (Branta canadensis) is a large wild goose species with a black head and neck, white patches on the face, and a brown body." (Wiki)

A Canada goose may or may not be Canadian. :)
