ITAR has issue with just about anything that can be possibly used for any type of item that may or may not have a military or defense use.
ITAR is one of the biggest PITA's I deal with where I work. ITAR even limits exposure to the manufacture of reglated parts to citizens of the USA or properly credentialed employees.
Because of ITAR regulations my company has to do an instant background check on any person entering our facility for the 1st time. That even included my wife a couple months ago when she brought me lunch. Once a person passes the check, they're good to go. My company has had a couple people that tried to get work here fail the background check. Needless to say we haven't hired them, and we're not allowed to tell them why.
It's better to take the pass than to get tied up in a bunch of gov't red tape
