Hello,

I haven't come across any reviews of the new Canik TP-9 SA other than the regular review crew.

Anyone picked one up yet? One reviewer measured the pull at 4lbs, a pound less than the PPQ.

I haven't used the SAO. The single action mode of the regular TP9 that I have used is not even close to a ppq trigger. I'll be interested to hear more on the SAO version. I would advise that weight is not the only consideration in a trigger pull.

TheTP-9SA single action is completely refined from the TP-9. Same short reset like the PPQ, but much lighter. Lighter than the PPQ.So it is a completely different gun than the regular TP-9.

No tryinig to be a wise guy but doesn't it take more than a 1 lb difference in trigger pull to clasify a gun a gun as a PPQ killer? And I don't know about you but I would take a German made gun any day over one made in Turkey, even if the Caniks are well made. I don't own either of them but the PPQ M2 is on my short list.

The TP-9 was a copy of the P99.

The TP-9 SA is copying the PPQ (actually the P99 QA).

So if the TP-9 SA can do the PPQ trigger, but lighter, I would say it does the PPQ trigger better than the original. I personally could have had my PPQ M1 to have a lighter trigger. My P30L's SA is 4.4 and fine.

I'm not sure about the poly guns but Canik's aluminum framed (CZ patterned) pistols are an amazing value and stack up favorably to the CZ75B. I only slightly prefer the CZ because of the steel frame but the Canik pistols are available at a much lower price point.

The TP9 is still relatively unproven compared to the P99 though. Walther makes some really solid guns and so far it looks like Canik is doing the same at a much lower price point.

I do not think the TP9sa will kill the PPQ, it is too well established. I recently purchased a standard TP9 and love the feel in hand but it had serious failures to return to battery, just got it back from century so we'll see how it does. I really want to like it because I really do like a lot of the features, but if it's unreliable even after a trip back to century, I am not very inclined to jump on the SA model. the SA does have a major drawback which I do not like and that is the decocker without a method of recocking other than manipulating the slide. other than that it does look like a winner but I am still the only person probably in my entire town of 35 thousand(in 3rd most armed county in the nation per capita) which has even heard of canik.
