Hello,

I'm just starting off reloading for my handguns (9mm, .38 Special and .45 ACP) and just picked up a few hundred copper plated bullets. I have Lymans 48th edition reloading manual and the Lee reloading manual. Only the Lee manual seperately lists data for plated bullets, for a total of 3 powders (Accurate #2, 5 and 7).

Where would be a good source to find additional load information for plated bullets? Are they just not popular or do you use the load data for straight lead bullets?

There are a lot of pet loads for plated bullets floating around out there.
Ask a specific question, and be rewarded with a specific answer.
You can also use almost any data, start from the starting load, and work your way up.

I've found my best plated loads in either .38Spcl, .357Mag, or .45ACP to be about .2gr less than for a similiar jacketed bullet of the same weight.
Typically I've started my load work ups at the level recommended for lead bullets and worked up toward my jacketed weight; with the best accuracy usually just a tad under the jacketed charge.
