Cant tell if its round or square

Are the current production M10's round or square butts? It doesn't say on the S&W webpage. I want to get one of these revolvers and when I showed my brother a pic, he sayed it looked good but that it needed some wood grips. Either Eagle Grips Regular or the Dymondwood ones sold by S&W look appetizing. BTW, are Eagle Grips Classic Style grips round-to-square? And does a T-Grips duplicate the feel of something like a Hogue Monogrip? I hate the feel of a Monogrip. Are T-Grips hard to install?

I think all new production S&W are round butt. Some have a round to square convertion grip. They do special runs on Square butts from time to time.

The T-Grip feels entirely different than a Hogue Monogrip. It's about the perfect thing for filling the large gap in the frame between the grip and the trigger guard. They're very easy to install. I like how they complement the classic wood Magna grips as well.

I'm also pretty sure that all NIB Smiths are Round Butt. If the dealer will let you, you could always take the grip off and see for yourself. Here's a really easy website to tell the difference visually between the two if you aren't sure, like I was at one time:



BTW, the Model 10 is one of the greatest revolvers of all time, period. Though I own both new and old Smiths, I myself only buy blued guns used (and probably all from now on). S&W's new blueing isn't really blueing, its more like black glossy nail polish. There are tons of used Model 10s on the market, many in excellent condition. And many of those would come with nice wood stocks. Keep your eyes open.
