The Capitan Hi-Power P35 pistol has been, in the past, a legend in collectability.

In reality, it is a FN Portugal made, rust proned, blue finished, cast framed, ancient, single action, with crude mechanical safety, gritty trigger (even for a SA), hammer biting, POS of a 9mm pistol. Gosh, no P35 can hold a candle to a Glock G19 or G17. There simply is no comparison.

But, she is so beautiful. Deep dark blue. A tangent sight which suggests 500 yard accuracy. I thought this particlular pistol was out of manufacture. But today, I found one with blue finish, brand new with walnut grips, a Browning Arms mark, and FN as well, for the astounding price of $570.

What is with that?? Should I buy het? The clerk dealer has no clue.

Does anyone know what is going on here?. I mean $570 for a new Capitan seems pretty cheap.

Opinions Please?

I say Buy, Buy, Buy......Man I'd love to have it, and that's cheap! Glocks are great, I own 4; but they bore me; a nice FN high power is like a beautiful Redhead, exotic, classy, hard to keep hands off of!:D

That's true.

You can make a P35 have a good trigger, but a Glock trigger will always suck no matter what you do to it.

Good ergonomics on a P35 are a hammber bob away. Good ergonomics on a Glock are pretty much a lost cause, unless you like to hang on to a bar of soap.

A P35 looks nice.

Also, if you hold a candle to a Glock, it will melt.

I seen a new one go on gunbroker for $499 a few months back with a couple 13 rounders. I passed on it. I don't really like the sites.

Personally, I would have to beg to differ.

They certainly are beautiful though, as you noted. ;)

$570 is not a great price. I'd shop around.

I saw one 3 years ago that had the wooden stock/holster that went with it. Sold as a pistol and no other special paperwork.
The gun was in absolute perfect condition. The stock looked old, has a few scuffs on it, but was suprisingly well preserved.
Asking price was $900. The next day I went back to get it and it was gone.
