So, I am a counterman at an auto parts store in north Idaho...I have a handful of regulars who come in just to drink coffee and have conversation..This usually covers, of course, trucks, politics and firearms...Today, a guy came in while we were discussing pistols and he caught the part of the conversation when I said "My usual carry gun holds 10 rounds" or something to that effect...his response.."Things like that lead to the arizona attack..People for years only had six bullets in their handguns and I think thats all anyone needs...They should ban all of the clips(his word not mine) that hold more than that.." He then proceeded to tell me that he need plug wires for his ford...And I told him "sorry, I can only sell you 4 plug wires, even though your engine uses 8, due to so many people getting killed because of the unnecessary power of an eight cylinder, I have decided that for years, people have done just fine with four cylinders and anything more than that makes them dangerous on the highways.." He sheepishly bought his wires and left amongst the laughter from the regulars...just thought ya'all might get a laugh from that...

Clever response, and not one bit mean or nasty, I like it! Maybe it planted a seed in him, who knows.

Granted, I feel fine carrying around six, but we still live in at least a mostly free country, and if one feels most confident loading up a 20 rounder, go for it!

Sorry, I'm not drinking the cool aid.
Your job is to sell him what he wants.
If he doesn't like what you like that's his business.
If you worked for me and had said that I'd fire you.

e a s y Airforce,

the shopper interjected himself into a private discussion and offered his 2 cents worth. The reply from the counter person was witty and humorous. The shopper did not have a snappy come back, let alone an apology for his rudeness.

When people loose perspective and take everything literally, we would all be at each other's throats or worse...

LOL, I love that retort.
AFS - get the stick out of your back- That is very kind of of retort that make loyal customers. As least it would make me one. Humor and friendliness are gualities not found enough in today auto parts stores.

Classic! Some people just have no clue and put very little thought into such things.

Some people, apparently, take things a little too seriously. Such is life in central Florida.

Airforce shooter

Just thought you should know, I did tell the manager what I said, and I reprimanded myself for it, but didn't fire myself as this was only my first offense. Next time I will issue myself a written warning.

And really, it wasn't a rude response. And he DID get all 8 plug wires.

And sorry...I didn't bring enough cool aid for you anyways...How about some ovaltine with fibre instead?

I work part time as a parts counterman. Loved your response. That might not make him a repeat but if I was next in line, I would have made the decision to be a repeat just by overhearing that. Airforce, notice I said overhearing and not interjecting.

WOW, I can reload my Hi-point c9 in half a second with nary a drop in rounds in the target. (I chose my hi-point because of low round count mags (not clips))

Have pity on the man, changing all 8 plug wires in a Ford pickup is about the closest thing to hell on earth I can imagine

I think they should limit commercial airliners to just 15 people and crew.
Crash just one airliner and you kill more people than any mass murder shooter has ever done.

More people have died on public transport than have EVER been killed by all the nutbags with guns.
That little fact just flows right by all the antigunners.

Life is tough, wear your big boy pants and man up.

You could have also asked him why stop at 6 rounds? That's way more than you need. For many years people carried single shot pistols and they got by okay. Weapons capable of more than a single shot lead to things like the Arizona attack...

People usually backed up thier single shots with a blade, so ask if it would bother him if you carried a sword as well?
That was a great response.

Remember a musket-man was really just a poorly armed pikeman that could shoot a volley or two before closing with bayonets.
