Carbon 15 Thread Deteriation

Noticed when I was shooting my Bushy Carbon 15 -9 mil the castle nut was so loose that the buffer retainer popped out and the buffer sheared the buffer retainer spring. On closer examination of the lower I noticed a loose carbon fiber or 2 associated with the lower where the buffer tube is threaded into the lower.
My question is should I just assemble the butt stock etc. and hope for the best, or use some teflon tape around the stock buffer tube?
