I know, it's a cheap rifle. But I bought it as a project, expected it as a project, and just haven't found anything on this problem. Not much to complain about on a $50 rifle.

I have three original clips, off of 7.35 ammunition. Mine is a 6.5. With two, pushing the bolt forward will have the round diving bullet-first into the feed ramp and sometimes locking up. The third clip does this less often, if ever, because the rounds do not 'click' into the ridge that catches at the extractor groove. Nature of the beast, or is there something I can adjust a little to ease this?

With all the clips, the rounds will occasionally release in front of the extractor instead of slipping under it. They move forward and chamber as usual, but prevent the bolt from turning to lock. With the bolt out, I can click a round in from the front, and all my other rifles will ride the extractor over a round, but no amount of shoving and pushing will get it over the rim on the Carcano.
