Carried at DISNEYLAND no problem...

If you remember my post about whether or not one could carry while at Disneyland. Well... I went, I carried, the answer is yes....and quite easily too.

Went 2 days carrying my Kahr p9 IWB at both Disneyland and California Park. So easy it was stupid. No signs or anything posted, but they do check your bags/purses/stollers etc. upon entering but I cant figure out exactly what the hell they are looking for anyways. No metal detectors or anything like that. So it seems as the checking of bags is completely useless and serves no purpose other than to slow the line down to get into the park

Well thats it, no problems and too easy.

I have carried at Disney World and Universal Studios Orlando with no problems.

Then, I tried to carry at Universal's Halloween Horror Nights. Big mistake. Metal Detectors. Needless to say, the car was a million miles away, so I tried to declare and check the gun. They did it for me, but not until after Orlando P.D. checked my permit and chided me for trying to carry into a theme park (which is not illegal in Florida).

Disney will require you to secure your weapon in the security office if they find it.

Yes, but not much chance they will find it unless it is painted orange, and carried in a bag marked clearly "GUN."

I went to Universal last Saturday and could have carried but wasn't sure about security so I didn't chance it. As of then, no metal detectors, wands, or any random patting down. They do make a cursory check of any bags you have. I believe this is just an excuse to separate patrons from thier cheap food and disguised as a "for your safety" measure.

Never been to Disney although I imagine I'd eventually have to make the pilgrimage.

I'd be worried about my carry gun falling out on the loop to loop roller coaster.

I have been to both Disney and Universal. Would have been no problem. Same for Bush Gardens and many other parks/rides. Including casino cruises. I carried backpack to them all and never had to do more then unzip top and show closed bags "not see thru" and was waved on. It is a joke and I have TOLD them it is food/drink and been waved thru. I do unclip my knife while going thru gate.

Well the funny thing is you can take all of your own food in that you like, we brought snacks with us. So what are they looking for? I told my gf that it is pretty funny if they are looking for weapons and that they aren't doing a very good job

At the prices they charge to get into that joint, I dont think you will find too many "hard up" criminals....They could have taken that 50 dollar ticket price and spent it in better ways...

So I dont think that I would even feel the need to carry in a place like disneyland.

Disneyland was probably searching for alcohol, drugs, and food rather than guns.

I respectfully disagree about the need to carry in theme parks.

First, I think you should carry all the time its legal because you never know when you will need it...

But furthermore, theme parks are not immune from danger. Disney in particular is considered a prime terrorist target. Furthermore, the areas outside the park--i.e., the parking lots and related areas--are fertile grounds for criminals because they know the targets are mostly somewhat lost, somewhat confused, condition white tourists (who wont return to prosecute) loaded down with spending cash.

I did like Bush Gardens has a person in a low tower (about 8' high) in every parking lot. They have a covered (deer stand) with cooler, light, radio, chair. So you have someone watching who is doing what. I felt fine with just a knife.
