It all started when one of my employees, my 12 year old grandson, my son in law and myself took a trip to the range. My son in law wanted to site in his deer rifle (mossberg 30-30) and I bought a Veridian laser for my XDm9 about 3 months ago, and never zeroed it in, so I thought it would be a good time to get that taken care of too. My Grandson brought his Henry Golden Boy and I let him use my M1 Carbine he has always wanted to try. 4 hours later we had fired over $300.00 worth of Ammo!!! I had just put a new stock on my M1 Garand and had to see how it fired. (20 clips worth). I bought an M1A over a month ago and fired it for the first time today. (5 20 round mags) and my grandson loved that m1 carbine so much he went through over 200 rounds all by himself. It took 200 rounds to get the laser set just right on my XDm. I didn't even ask how much .30.30 my son in law used. My employee brought his Mosin and a couple shot guns to add to the fun. I'ts nice to go nuts every once in a while and spend money like you really have some.:D

I can't think of anything better to do with a bunch of ammo than shoot it. :D

When I read this title I thought you were literally "carried away" as in, they forcefully made ya'll leave. I'm glad that was not the case and jealous I was not invited :D

When I read the title, I was afraid that someone had been hurt and had to be carried away.

Glad to know that that wasn't the case. Great story. I should ask my grandpa to go shooting with me (I am 18). He was in the Vietnam and Korean wars, so I know he has gun experience. I just don't know if he likes shooting. He gave my dad (his son) a type 56 and a S&W 39-2 before he retired to mexico, but my dad hasn't fired them.

Anyway, great story. :D

When I read the title, I thought someone had been carried away at the range because of an accident.

Glad it was all just fun.

You didn't take any 22LRs to the range? There's where you went wrong. I've been doing the vast majority of my shooting lately with the wife's tacticool Rock River LAR-15 in 22LR. I've had a M1A for awhile and love it to death, but I can blow through 200 rounds of 22LR and only spend $10. That same amount of 7.62 NATO costs me $120.

i took my 9 year old son to the range today as well, blew the piss out of paper bad had a blast, wiped out over 400 rounds alone... 9mm,38,357,380,45... and all the 22lr my son could jam into a clip...

Happygeek my Grandson shot up a 100 pack of 22lr with his Henry Golden Boy. We shot up a bunch of Ammo and I don't regret it for 1 second. In fact, I still have a smile on my face 24 hours later!:D
