Carried Concealed for the first time tonight...

Congratulations! You will quickly lose the sense of having a neon sign over your head that says "HE HAS A GUN!" But it'll be there for awhile. ;)

I've read a number of folks who've said "don't adjust your clothes" and it occurred to me that I tend to do that whether or not I'm wearing my gun. When we recently vacationed in Massachusetts I certainly wasn't carrying, but there I was tugging my shorts and straightening my shirt whenever I stand up or get in/out of the car.

If that's what the police really look for, they can look all day at me. But it won't mean anything one way or another. Best advice: act like you always do. Be yourself. Don't worry about it. And again, congratulations!

Brings tears to my eyes when I remember my first time. /sniffle

You'll probably be checking yourself in the mirror for the next month or so. Then, the month after that, you'll stack your gun and holster with your clothes when you get ready to shower. Then, two months after that, you'll start forgetting that you're carrying when you use the restroom or are disrobing for the night.

I made sure I didn't try to adjust the holster but I did pull my pants up and adjust a few times.

Are you using a belt made for carry? Just because it's thick doesn't make it a good choice. A good gunbelt is made double layered to keep it stiff. You've spent a good sum on a pistol and an excellent holster, don't compromise the system by cheaping out on your belt. There's lots of good choices (and many threads on them here). I use belts from Beltman, couldn't believe the difference when I switched my VM2 from the work belt I had been using. No more shifting.

I'll pick up a couple good belts next week.

Though, I'm just used to carrying now. So, no more playing with the shirt.

Way to go! I'm not sure what the laws are like where you are, but in Washington where I'm at, it only takes a while and you don't even care much if you do print, since that's not against the law here. I've even open carried a couple times in the east, where people don't care, or in the woods where it's not a problem at all, and perfectly legal at all times. Feels pretty good! :)
