I've currently got my weak arm in a sling due to elbow surgery, where it will be for several months. I can't figure out a decent method to carry.

I need the one pocket I can reach for keys, wallet, cell (on call) so I can't pocket carry. Only having one hand I'm tending not to wear pants with buttons, and thus no belt for IWB or OWB. My maxpedition pack won't work either since it goes where the sling is.

Any ideas? Fanny pack, if I can get it buckled? Right now I'm just limiting my exposure (not going out unless I have to, and staying to what I consider the absolute safest places), and carrying in my car's center console.

Howzabout using velcro to attach a holster to the inside of your sling? Would be handy, always available,...and (depending on holster size and color) pretty much out of sight too

Good luck on your recovery.

Belly band holster if you can get it around you, and assuming you wear your shirt outside your pants. Used one for years with a polymer carry gun.

Sorry to hear, sending best all goes well.

Grandpa Shooter's advice is great!

I do not know what you have for holsters already.

The IWB and OWB with the heavy , sturdy metal clip [Bianchi is what I used, others make them too] work real well. Mine allowed for Clip to be moved, and convert holster for left or right hand use- therefore allowing one to use holster strong, weak, or cross draw.

IWB with the belt snaps, work well. One example is the Hi-Noon with forward cant. Needed something in a hurry, and Lady with weak side surgery like you, just one handed put holster IWB at 4:00, both leather straps behind belt, down, back over and snap, holster gun.

For her needs, she just left this onto the jeans/belt until she went out. Recovering at home, and wearing frumpy , comfy clothes, CCW handy...

She also Kept a NAA Mini Revolver holstered in her sling. She always had a gun, even if zonked out in a recliner while recovering.

I used a Beretta Jetfire in my sling for the same reason...
