The flash hole or what the military calls it, spit hole, comes in 4 different sizes. But i have not found standards at https://www.cip-bobp.org/tdcc OR https://saami.org
Have a look at the gov. https://discover.dtic.mil There is some testing on what size spit hole is better for rifles. Have not seen any for pistols.
Pressure in the pocket is around 23,000 PSI, no powder in the case. The smaller spit hole will increase pressure in the pocket.
