While at the range the other day shooting my Glock SF30 I was policing my brass and noticed that some casings had large primers and small primers for .45 acp casings. I had picked up all the casings in the booth from prior shooters and I was shootings rounds that had large primers. My question is, are the cases diferently sized for the large and small primers? Can the cases take both? People around me couldn't answer my questions.

I see a lot of this and now pay attention and separate my 45. You will know it when your ram stop dea when trying to shove a large primer in the small hole!

I have reloaded both and they all work well, but haven't chronoraphed any or done any accuracy testing from a rest. I use them for USPSA practice and notice no difference.

Everyhing i have seen is from Blaser. The primers are not interchangeable. Use small primers in small hole and large in large hole.

Blaser is not the only brand doing this. The primer size will not interchange, but there should not be much difference in the load. Just another thing to sort, is all. Lightman

I've seen many different brands with small primers, most common are Blazer and Federal, but today I found one that that surprised me. The headstamp was "Winchester +P". I guess that should answer the question about whether they work as well as large primers.
