The price of lead seems to have doubled and tripled the last couple of years to the point that I can buy plated bullets for not much more than the cost of lead.

Over on the castboolits site you can buy lead in clean 1 pound ingots for $1 a pound most of the time. That's pretty cheap. I can still find wheel weights for $40 a bucket or so so I'm doing very well. That gets me over 100 pounds of ingots for that price.

But $1 a pound for clean ingots isn't bad and much cheaper than you can buy plated for.
