Hi All

My new GP-100 has a throat dia over .357, and smaller than .358.
The bore slugs right at .357.
Will shooting .358 dia cast bullets work ok? After searching the net for answers, I have read to use bullets no smaller than the throat, but not much info for slightly larger. Any thoughts appreciated.

Thanks,
Jeff

.358 will work just fine, work your loads up in the normal manner. I would rather be .001-.002" over than .001" under. Nick.

.358" is about as small as I would go on the bullets if the throat is nearly .358". I want bullets a full thousandth over throat size and don't mind 2 or 3 thou, has always been the best for me. A half a thousandth under and it starts to go south......

Slightly larger works well. In my GP100,I shoot bullets from a .358" mold that casts slightly oversize, sometimes to .360". It's quite accurate. I don't even have to resize them, provided I cool them quickly from the mold.

.38 Special ammunition

If buy .38 Special ammunition from any hardware or sporting goods store you will get ammo with .358 diameter bullets that your weapon was designed to shoot and the Weapons and Ammunition Companies certainly agree on the diameter.

Out of the thousands of reloaders, Star, Saeco and automated Lubersizers I have sold I never had any reason to question the Weapon or Ammunition companies designs.
