I have a Ruger SR9
I did slug the bore and from my finding i need minimum .357 or .358 dia.
I been loading 122 gr. Lead from Dardus cast for some time over 3.2 gr. Bulleye .358 dia.
I also use extreme bullets 147 gr. In .357 dia.
I wonder if I can load 38 cal. 125 gr. in .357 for my 9 mm
Extreme seem to be out of stock on 147 gr. In .357

I have used 125 grain/.357" Hornady XTP bullets in my Beretta M9, driven by Power Pistol... They have proven to be the most accurate bullet I have ever used in the pistol, with velocities that avg 1180 fps and perfect function. FWIW, the GD of the pistol is .3572". For cast I always size mine .358", and have even used .359"... The largest diameter I can get to work in the pistol's leade/case wall thickness is how I like to size my bullets.

I have shot the Power Bond 124 Gr .358 HP in 9MM just to see if they would work in a pinch and they seemed to be just fine. Just plinker load levels, not max, but they shot fine. I have shot a lot of Zero .356 JHPs in 9MM without issues. They sell .355 (#162) and .356 (#161) ones. At first I got some of each for 9MM & .38 Super respectively, but after trying the Zero .356 in 9MM only order the ".38 Super" .356 125 Gr JHP for use in both..

I load a cast lead 125grn .358 sized bullet in my 9mm. Use a lyman M die or a 38s&w expander plug in your lee dies so your case doesn't swage your bullet down.

► You seem to be discussing the sizing of lead bullets and plated bullets in the same sentence. You need to be careful becasue usable bullet size varies depending upon the material.

► I've been very happy shooting Missouri Bullet Co IDP#8 which is a Hi-Tek coated 0.357 dia lead RN in 130gr intended for 38 Super. Then you can use the High Road MBC discount.

If you order enough from MBC they'll size them to .358 if you like. I get mine that way for my .357" bore P226 and Beretta 92FS.

I load for .357/38/9mm, I buy no groove/coated bullets that are .358 dia., and shoot thru many different guns/calibers with different barrel/cylinder throat sizes.
One 9mm has an aftermarket "tight" (chamber) barrel, so for that gun I push those bullets thru a 0.356" Lee sizing die.
All the bullets, in all weights, are either round nose or truncated cone, so same bullet all guns.
This keeps bullet inventory down to different weights, not different calibers, as I buy only 0.358" dia., and size them for different guns.
just the way I do it,
:D
