I'm thinking about acquiring a pistol caliber carbine. I really don't care for shooting revolvers, I have found. But I have a lot of bullets, brass, and loaded ammo. So I was wondering. Say I have a lot of 357 non-GC'd cast reloads with a maximum charge of magnum powder. This shoots fine in my revolvers with minimal fouling.
If I shoot the same loads in a carbine in which the projectile reaches 2000 FPS muzzle velocity, could they foul the barrel due to the higher speed, alone? I figure the lube might run out, and there's bore size to worry about. But assuming everything else is fine, does the increased speed cause fouling?
