Have any of you loaded cast bullets in a 9x18 Makarov? I am talking about in a CZ 82 which has a polygonal barrel. I have heard all of the warnings about severe leading, possible high pressure and even KABOOMS.I will most likely use MBC "Spetznaz" 93 grain projectiles. What can any of you knowledgeable gentlemen or ladies tell me about this subject? I am running short on my stock of 95 grain plated and Berrys doesn't even list it any more.:banghead:

I shoot cast in my CZ82s all the time. In fact, I have not shot a jacketed or plated bullet in years in anything. I cast all of my own and use Lee Liquid Alox and get absolutely no leading what so ever.

Just make sure you have a good lube and a bullet that is sized properly and you'll be good to go. You may even want to tumble lube the bullets your buying depending on the lube that is there.

They will be from Missouri Bullet Company which are highly recommended on this forum. It will be my first from them.I need to save some $ for a large order (for me) to save on shipping. What is your load for your cast bullets? I have been using Win 231 in Starline brass with a little over max load of 4.1grains behind a 95 Berry RN. I have a heavier recoil spring (18lb) installed.

I load 3.8gr of W-231 with a 93gr cast LRN for a East German PM the velocity is pretty much 1,050 fps.
I use either 9x18 brass or trimmed 9x19.
I have a 19# recoil spring in this gun, the standard is 17#
