I did a search but came up empty.

I'm wondering what the law in Minnesota says about either your right or non-right to defending your home. For example, is it necessary first to try and retreat from your house, or is it legally presumed that an intruder is there to do you harm and you have a right to use any force (including deadly force) to stop them?

Fyi, I'm not in any type of urgent situation with threats or anything, so I don't want to pay a lawyer for their answer. I'm just wondering and figured I'd throw it out there.
