I've carried Aguila IQ ammo in my 45 ACP pistols for some years.
I've done about every informal test I can think of. Shooting wet phone books, 5 gallon water jugs, Plexiglas, wood, etc. From the first I've been impressed with the damage the bullet does.
I also have 40 S&W and 9mm.
I'm not real impressed with the two smaller calibers and don't carry the Aguila in 40 or 9mm. When the bullet breaks into 3-4 pieces, the pieces are too small IMO.
The 45 breaks into a 45 cal size piece and 2-3 22 size pieces that head their own way through a target.
When hitting a hard target the bullet stays in one piece and penetrates. When I was shooting some lined up 2 inch wood boards the bullet penetrated further than I expected then bent the bottom of my steel bullet trap.
Some shooters don't like the round but I have absolutely no doubt that it will stop whatever it hits.
The muzzle velocity is 1280 FPS from a Kimber Ultra (3 inch barrel).
I would be interested to see what it does against body armor.
