Does anyone know the deal with Blazer 22lr? I contacted them and was told they were producing at max. In the last year I have only found one dealer who had a brick of the stuff and selling for $6.99 for 50. I have spent hours on line and the only place it was in stock was Gun Broker for big bucks. Also it looks like Canada has an endless supply.
Are they selling outside the US, or they snagged as soon as they appear?

I still see buying in similar rates to last year. box goes on the shelf - word gets out. empty shelf. But the shelf is getting restocked more than it used to.

As close as Canada is to me, I should really look into the feasibility of a mass purchase and bring it back to the states. 30,000# of 22 should be able to turn some level of profit in these times. Then again, if I can think of it - someone else could too, and I don't see anyone else doing it - so perhaps it's either so difficult to get a permit, or it's so cost prohibitive - it's useless to attempt.

Good luck finding ANY .22 LR ammo on a regular basis, let alone your "preferred brand". Its cleaned off of store shelves as soon as its put out in most cases. I bought 1k of Winchester M22 the other day at Walmart.....first 22 LR I'd seen on a store shelf in well over a year. Price was right at $50

by the way, how good is CCI blazer? is it comparable to mini mags in any way?

The 50 boxed Blazer is good stuff in terms of reliability and accuracy. I bought a case one year ago for 179 bucks shipped. I wish I had bought a truck load.

I bought many bulk boxes of CCI awhile back when Dunhams had them on sale for 2 for $30. they seem to be comparable with mini mags, with a bit more coating on them. a few people had issues with severe leading from a few lots - but CCI was quick to fix that. I myself have shot probably 2000 of them in the past year with no issues.

Blazer is great stuff.

Blazer is the "value" priced line from CCI......plain lead round nose
"Minimags" are the "premium" line from CCI......gilded lead round nose & plastic box.

Blazer's my favorite "value price" stuff. Over the years it has become my best "all around use" stuff because on average it works well in 4 different rifles and 1 22LR handgun. Can't recall ever having a dud. Have even taken out a few woodchucks with it with one shot kills, (as long as it's a head shot at under 50 yds. or so). Other than that it's just for plinking and some squirrel hunting, which it does OK at also. Most of my 22's can do better with more expensive stuff but for "value price" stuff it's well worth my money. But I haven't purchased any in over a year because I try to keep 6 to 8 bricks of it around in case of these buying panics, ( learned my lesson way back in 1992 when Clinton first got elected). Don't shoot as many 22's as I used to and still have at least five and a half or so bricks left so that should hold me over for a few years yet at my current rate of consumption.
