Regarding CCi 4 Winged Musket s Caps: The container says they are for reenactment. Are these caps usable to fire loaded Muskets (ammunition)?

Yes, they work just fine. The 4 wing caps are just preferred (required) by reenactors over the 6 wing caps because the petals are thicker and stronger and less prone to flying off and causing injury to the eyes and such. CCI recommends that nipples with larger flash holes be used when shooting without powder to reduce the chance of wing and percussion cap fragmentation.

Always wear approved shooting glasses when firing any muzzleloading firearm.

Thank you for your reply. I will give them a try in the morning. I have one more question related to nipples. What is a good nipple wrench for an Armi Sports rifle?

they should be fine. the 4 winged are called reenactor caps because the original caps from the 1800s only had 4 wings. Even in a reenactment I still use the 6 wing kind. Theyre about 5 bucks cheaper by me.

I tried some of the CCI 4 winged caps and they worked well. In addition, I tried the RWS musket caps for comparison and they seemed a little hotter but had the same effect.
