CCRKBA TAKES GUN RIGHTS BATTLE
INTERNATIONAL, OPENS OFFICE IN LONDON
The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA) today announced that it is opening an office in London, and joining with embattled British citizens in their fight to resto! re their firearms rights.

It is the first time an American firearm civil rights organization has opened an office on foreign soil. CCRKBA Chairman Alan M. Gottlieb has appointed veteran Conservative Party activist Greg Smith as the organization's European representative.

"British citizens and gun owners from other European countries will be funding this effort," Gottlieb said. "Just as with America's war against international terrorism, we are taking the fight against international gun control to our enemies. With the attack on gun rights becoming global, it is important to fight these battles on every continent before we find ourselves isolated from an important human civil right.

"Extremist gun control measures have disarmed the British people," Gottlieb continued, "leaving them vulnerable to criminal assault. Incredibly, if they do defend themselves, they can be prosecuted and imprisoned. Since the United Kingdom banned privately owned handguns in 1997, gun crim! e has nearly doubled. What more appropriate place for the Citizens Committee to be than in the middle of this battleground, offering whatever help we can to British citizens in their efforts to take back their neighborhoods and make their communities safe once again?"

Gottlieb is traveling to London to help Smith open the office there. While there, he will meet with members of Parliament.

"The British example," Smith said, "is conclusive proof to anyone who proposes gun control that it simply does not work. You can take guns away from law-abiding citizens, whose only desire is to protect their homes and families. However, our experience has proved that you cannot stop criminals, who are reportedly bringing guns into the country illegally, while honest citizens find it nearly impossible to even own a sporting shotgun."

"Gun control zealots in the United States contend that America should follow the British model," Gottlieb observed. "Now law-abiding British citizens ar! e telling us that doesn't work. There is no more credible a source about the consequences of British disarmament than the citizens who have become the victims of their government's policies, and the criminals those policies have unleashed."

With more than 650,000 members and supporters nationwide, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms is one of the nation's premier gun rights organizations. As a non-profit organization, the Citizens Committee is dedicated to preserving firearms freedoms through active lobbying of elected officials and facilitating grass-roots organization of gun rights activists in local communities throughout the United States.

Looks better than the NRA

I'm joining up!

The NRA compromises too much on important stuff. Besides, this way I almost count twice!

I hope all goes well for CCRKBA in London. If you think we have an up hill battle here in the US I bet it is crazy over there.

Very good thing to hear, I certanly hope they make progress.

It's going to be a VERY tough struggle...

Well, since all of our gun rights here have been restored, and our guns are completely safe, I'm glad they're setting up over there.

Oh wait....

(sarcasm here. maybe, I'm not sure how I feel about this.)

Well, since all of our gun rights here have been restored, and our guns are completely safe, I'm glad they're setting up over there.

That was my first thought.

Then I figured it is time to take the battle to the enemy.

Maybe Britons are ripe for a revolt?

Obviously, as the CCRKBA *California* state rep, there's a level of bias on my part, which is why I'm saying that up front.

That said, Alan didn't consult me on this and I basically have no more info than y'all.

I'm guessing what Alan Gottlieb, Joe Waldron, Dave Workman and the other strategists are thinking: first, England is in SUCH bad shape that even minor improvements such as legal home defense with rifles/shotguns would cause big shifts in crime rates (esp. hot burglary), which can be documented in "test case" fashion. THAT helps the US scene.

Alan is also quite good at fundraising plus runs a cost-effective operation and should be able to finance what's going on over there via English fundraising.

Note that his operative there has an inside track with the Conservatives. That may be affecting the funding situation.

I don't think Alan will need to fund UK operations with much US money if any, beyond small seed costs.

I believe I'd be in favor of this even if I wasn't working for 'em :D.

By all means

My position is that like they said, the majority of funding will come from England itself, and it's good to open up another front. It'll force the gun-grabbers to expend effort elsewhere as well.

And who knows, like was said, if they manage to restore some rights and the crime rate boom there reverses itself... Another nail in the coffin.

IN OTHER NEWS. . . .

DATELINE: THE HOLY SEE, 17 March 04

Today, Pope John Paul II made the stunning announcement that The Vatican would be opening a mission on the outskirts of Purgatory, just across the River Styx from Hell.

"This is a wonderful opportunity to spread the word of God amongst non-believers. We anticipate taking the fight against evil directly to the source. Though it will be difficult to find many converts who will accept Christ as their Saviour, we will win them over with the righteousness of our faith, and an unshakeable belief in our cause."

Satan was contacted, as he is in the Palm of every journalist on Earth, but he was unavailable for comment, his secretary noting that he had pressing business in Ketchum, Idaho next week, having been summoned to make a semi-secret endorsement of an un-named politician in his capacity as a "foreign leader."
