I have searched google and cant seem to find what im looking for. I have a Glock 27 that im trying to conceal and am looking for a holster to do that.

I used to carry with a shoulder holster but that was very uncomfortable having an overshirt or a coat on all the time. I am looking for something thats comfortable and easy to conceal.

Is there a website with pros and cons plus pictures of different types of carry?

All the holsters i see look very bulky.

I was thinking about a small of back holster. Any thoughts?

I personally do not like the small of back holster carry. It reminds me too much of the discomfort I had with all the years I spent sitting in a crown vic with my cuff case riding on my back. I've since moved my cuff case to my front and its alot better.
Only you can tell what you like and dislike, and what your willing to give up in comfort to conceal the weapon. If I am wearing pants that have the hip room, I will usually carry my 27 IWB strong side with a Galco Kink Tuck. This is the most concealable method of carry that I HAVE Tried. If my dress attire will not allow me to use the IWB holster, then I switch to Galco Matrix Mx7 holster. With a decent but affordable purpose made carry belt, it conceals easly since the upper portion of the gun holds firm to my body. What I dislike about this holster and my IWB holster, is when I sit down in a car the grip wants to tuck in behind my back. This makes drawing while sitting harder. It will take some trial and error until you find the right holster, and after you do somthing different will come out that you have to try. I dont have any custom holster makers to reccomend, since I dont have any. A friend of mine does carry a full size 1911 in a kydex holster made by Aholster company WWW. lefthandholsters.com. It seems to be a good holster and holds his 1911 in tight to his body, which helps with concealment. While you shop for a holster remember that the object is to be able to deploy the weapon in a timely and consistant manner if needed. There will be a trade off between concealabilty and accessability. It is up to you to find the break even point between comfort and concealibilty for you and your body shape.

Comfort depends on a lot of variables and your intended uses. Personally, I do not care for the SOB holsters. I spend virtually all of my time sitting. 5 days a week I'm in a suit. Just slide your pistol under your belt and sit down, and you'll get the feel of it. A holster will not improve it. It will still stick into your back and pinch your backside. I carry concealed 24/7-well almost.

I prefer a holster that carrys right behind the strong side hip for all my pistols and revolvers. I have a G36 that is the same size as your G27. Dressed casually, my 36 is my default carry weapon. I use 3 holsters. Andrews Leather-IWB-very comfortable for me. High Noon Holsters-OWB Snapper, and IWB Tuckable, Hidden Ally or Split Decision, for dress. You can have these custom made or order the stocking items from High Noon. I have an El Paso Saddlery-IWB Tuckable Ultra Cover, IWB High Noon Hidden Ally, OWB High Noon Skin Deep, and Ross Leather Yacqui for my CZ Rami (a little smaller than the G36). I also on ocassion have used a belly band around the hips over my tucked in shirt and just under the belt.

All are useful for various purposes and clothing. We all have a box of holsters. Andrews Leather made all of my gun belts and dress belts. The right combination of belt and holster will fit very well and be as comfortable as one can expect. Now, I'm a skinny guy-5'11" at 155 lbs. Most of the IWBs fit me. But, it's hard to demo holsters, and I, like many, have holsters that I simply do not like or no longer use. IMHO custom made holsters and belts are the way to go.

Good luck. As often said wearing a pistol is not supposed to be comfortable. It's supposed to be comforting.

For small guns, I like Kydex holsters because their stiffness allows them to ride high enough that you should be able to conceal it under a long
T shirt. Here is one I just shipped out to a customer.
This type of holster also has the advantage of being convertible to IWB carry with the purchase of soft loops or J hooks.
I sell leather and Kydex, but for that type of sub compact gun I think Kydex wins.

If you're going to carry IWB, then I very strongly suggest you check out Raven Concealment. They're designed for IWB carry and are extremely comfortable. I have one for my Glock 26 and I hardly even know it's there at times.

It's a little expensive compared to some of the holsters out there, but they will adjust for your preferred cant (grip angle) and also sell accessories for tucked-shirt IWB carry (I recommend getting the wings and tuck kit even if you won't be tucking it in, for comfort reasons).

I think I'm going to give www.oldfaithfulholsters.com a try... inexpensive, can cant them however you want, and try different things to see what you like. I'm looking for an IWB holster so it will work well for that I'm sure.

I bought a cheap $15 High Noon holster for my CM9 just to get a baseline opinion on how to carry the gun. I know that with the small grip.. I need a LOT of cant if I want to have the grip be accessible quickly when drawing, and it also really needs to ride high to help keep it where it is more comfortable and quicker to draw. And single clip sucks, it pivots around unless your belt is STUPID tight(like... make you need to pee a lot tight:rolleyes:).

I just bought a Glock 19 a few days ago. I had planned to carry it in a Crossbreed Supertuck, but because I've never carried IWB before, I decided I wasn't ready to drop $90 on a holster. I also didn't want to wait "4-6 weeks" to try a product I didn't even know I'd like.

I bought a Galco King Tuk (Galco's $55 version of the Supertuck) the same day. I carried my Glock 19 in the King Tuk all day yesterday (except while at school for a couple hours), and all day long today, while moving, and inside a restaurant and Walmart. I wore jeans and a dark T-shirt yesterday. Today I wore cargo shorts and a t-shirt. I was extremely comfortable both days, and didn't feel like I was "made" at all, not even once.

I also feel that the King Tuk is extremely comfortable while seated and/or driving. So far, I honestly have zero complaints about this holster. Its MUCH better than I expected it to be, in every possible way. Of course, I've only been carrying two days...

I plan to post an "early opinions" review of it in a week or two. I'll post about it again in 3-6 months. For now, I'm glad I went with this holster. I'm certain the Crossbreed would be just as good, if not better; but right now, I can't imagine what "better" might be.

ETA:

Crossbreed does offer a lifetime warranty against any "regular use" damage/breakage to the Supertuck - which is awesome, IMO. Galco does not offer any warranty that I know of. Both holsters are made in the USA.

What holster works for you or anyone else is a very subjective thing, so there's no definitive resource on selecting a holster that I'm aware of. As this thread shows there are a ton of great designs & products out there, but most people have hunt for a few to find the one that works best for them. At best you are going to get opinions from people based on what their experiences are.

It would help to know a little about your build and how you like to dress. I am a big guy and have no problem carrying an 8 shot N frame S&W in a Comp-Tac IWB holster all day long. I can promise that same rig would not work for some people the way it does for me.

As far as SOB carry goes, there is not a whole lot of support for them out there that I've ever seen, but a few companies keep making them so someone is buying. The downsides are that they are positioned right over your back or tailbone, difficult to impossible to draw while seated and a much further away to draw and clear your cover garment when standing.

If you like the more "horizontal" approach maybe a crossdraw would be a good option.

Good part about a Glock 27 is the sky's the limit on holsters. Once you define a little more about how you envision carrying and maybe a description of yourself there are plenty of resources here to give you some good starting points.

Glock's seem like a natural match for kydex. Lightweight, durable, weather resistant, and stiff enough not to get caught up with your trigger. One good thing about the G27 is it is such a small pistol, you can probably wear an OWB holster and still conceal it without too much work.

Raven Concealment, as mentioned earlier, is a good option.

Garrett Industries will leather line your kydex for a silent draw.
