nice to see the CCW cause grow over the years. Now what to do about the last "leftover" states like Califorina and Illinois.

California is may-issue, though in many counties that is only in theory. Wisconsin and Illinois are the last "no-issue" states and Wisconsin has come very close to passing the legislation (a veto followed by a few votes short of the override IIRC).

Illinois will be the tough nut to crack... which is ironic considering that southern Illinois is very gun-friendly and there are significant numbers of gun manufacturers based in IL.

California's system is corrupt

Santa Clara County(San Jose-Silicon Valley) has a new sherrif that doesn't give out any. Period! At least she's honest about it. Other high density jurisdictions tend to give them out as favors to those that finance re-election campaigns.
Low density and conservative areas have a pretty good chance of getting issued. Sadly, I don't qualify for the privilidge of defending myself and the very woman who would deny my request is not responsible for ensuring my safety.

Yes, California is still a "may issue" state (which means "won't issue" in many counties). Have you considered moving to a better county(better for ccw anyway), i.e. San Bernardino is all but a "Shall Issue" county, go to packing.org other counties are better. May just be a move across county lines. I have a friend that moved 1/4 mile from a town called Calimesa to Yucaipa, and in so doing changed from Riverside tp San Bernardino county (No issue unless your a cop/ex-cop or your life was threatened vs. "shall Issue")

That's great if you're right near a county line, and if a new Sheriff with a different CCW policy doesn't get elected.

When I move, it's going to be out of CA entirely. Probably to NoVA... I'll easily be able to find work, and i'll be stuck with the same traffic and crowding, but I won't be subject to the loonies in Sacramento any more and I'll be able to CCW, buy EBRs and high-cap mags, etc.
