CCW question

i was just wondering... is really possible that you can get your CCW license in 21 days from the date your send it to the day you open the letter with ThanksGiving Day in between? or it takes the 3 month by law?
 
hard to say. i'm sure more people from FL with chime in. it varies from state to state and even from county to county. i got mine in about 30 minutes here in WA. some states take 3 months. it's worse than a 6 year old waiting on Christmas eve, isn't it?
 
In GA the situation has improved. Mine took 13 weeks in 2001. My son's took a few weeks a couple of years ago, and one of his buddies got his in the mail 5 days after his application last year.
 
My original took three or four months. The last renewal took a few weeks. At one point it was down to three or four weeks for new applications, but in '08 traffic began to increase. The wife's took eight weeks in summer of '08. Don't know if it's changed since.
 
I've heard wait times for people who mailed in their applications have been as long as 120 days, but I think the average is 60 to 90 days. I did mine in person at the closest regional office (got lucky there was one 15 min from where I work) and had mine in hand in less than 10 days.

In GA, when you renew they'll give you a temporary permit for $1.00 until the new permit shows up too.
 
We get our picture taken at the Sheriffs office and wait for the phone response. About 3 mins. I have this happen every 5 years for the Last 20 or so. Rendell cant even stop it.

IDK about mailing it in. I have heard people are getting them faster recently. Going into the regional office is the way to go. My wife and I got ours in less than a week.
 
I live in Pennsylvania but it's obviously different in different states and even areas of your own state.

I live in a county with some dense population pockets for the area. It took me 12 days to receive my permit. I now people who have gotten it in a day in smaller counties and Philidelphia generally takes as long as allowed by law.
 
Missouri it's 45 days. Mine took 45 to the day for the sheriffs office to call and say it was approved and in. My budy that took the class with me got his back in 14 days, his dad got his back in 3. ***?
