Another thread on here got me thinking about summer clothing. Trying not to print too bad in the summer months is more difficult than winter obviously. Maybe we can share some suggestions. I got an XD45 Service over the winter (I prefer OWB) and I just tried on my summer shirts with it the other day. The long grip is pretty hard to conceal. I'm thinking about getting a couple windshirts (sort of like the ones golfers wear) or a windbreaker or something. I want to stay away from the whole vest thing if I can. I don't want to make this about fashion either. Anyone have any good ideas or own a piece of clothing that makes their life easier as far as concealing? Thanks!

I usually wear camp shirts (they're short-sleeve button-up shirts that are made to be untucked), which work pretty well if you conceal IWB. Using an OWB holster, on the other hand, is tougher all around. They conceal better if they're untucked, although that leaves the opportunity for them to swing or be blown out of the way and reveal your weapon.

I also carry a snub .38, which works fine in your typical cargo short. It's not exactly a rapid-deployment mode of carry, but it's at least on you.

I dress the same year round here in the South.

Tennis shoes, jeans, long sleeve oxford shirt most all the time.

Long sleeves protects arms in hot summer sun, I roll them up , roll down as need.

I am pretty boring, not really taken notice of, sorta blend in wherever I am.
Today wore my green oxford shirt and was "right there" and folks never even noticed me outside.
In fact darn near walked into me until I said "hi".
They jumped back and asked how long I had been "right there" -smoking.
"Long enough to hear your password for your email account you gave over a cell phone, your Gfs cell phone number and ...

Not bad for a old fart huh?

Actually I just got a Bianchi 100 IWB for a full-size 1911 and at the 3-o'clock position it disappears under an untucked t-shirt one size up from what I normally wear. Works much better than my Galco OWB. As comfortable? No. But I can live with that.
