my sister wants to start ccw'ing. she is not a big woman but not a thin one like what you see on the youtube videos....

purse carry is not an option, she wants to carry on her person IWB if possible.

anyone know of videos of women ccw'ing where the women are not 5'05" and 125lbs? lets say a woman who is 5'09" and 165lbs.....

ive tried to show her explain to her ect.... from out of state, she would like to see real women showing and explaining how they do it, why a certain way etc....

thanks.

rondog, thanks. do you know where there are any video tutorials?

getting training and all that isn't the problem. she cant just appendix tuck or bra strap tuck a pistol like the Barbie dolls on you tube can. she was wanting to see videos of other women talking about and showing how they do it, not reading something about it.

Ankle carry? Didn't see any on that link, but I went through it pretty fast.

Slow, but you have a gun. I do it occasionally for deep concealment. My own method is butt-forward on the inside of my strong side ankle. Works best for me.

Thought of slitting the inside seam of my right pants leg with closure by Velcro, but never got around to it.

I hate to state this explicitly, but in certain circumstances on one's back with one's legs in the air, it might make for a pretty good gun retrieval system. This, strictly according to my 100% theoretical situation analysis. The ladies will have to dope out the specifics for themselves.

I don't know of any specific videos, no. So many variables, and not knowing your lady, her size, preferred manner of dress, preferred pistol, etc., it's impossible for anyone else to offer a magical solution. All I can suggest is searching YT for "female concealed carry options/holsters".

It's generally easier for heavier folks to conceal a pistol, especially women. Not really a way to put this delicately, they have more bumps and rolls so a little extra bump from a pistol is not as noticeable. To be blunt, you're not as likely to find videos of heavier girls showing how they carry because they don't look as good doing it. No offense intended, it's just how it is. Also, I noticed you're from Alabama. It's perfectly legal to open carry there, which means she doesn't need to be concerned about someone catching a glimpse of her pistol, at least from a legal perspective.

bear,

thank you for the delicate approach LOL, but I wouldn't say my sister was fat at all, not even full figured according the "full figured" models, LOL.

she does not live in Alabama either. she just not slim like the skinny women in the youtube videos. im at the point now that she will just have to pick a way to carry and get use to it. theres only so much I can do as far as suggestions.....

Sometimes thats what it comes down to. It'll never be as comfortable to carry as it is not to. There's just no way to carry a 1-3 lb. chunk of metal/plastic around on your body that is going to feel like your favorite underwear. :) It's supposed to be comforting, not necessarily comfortable.

Nick, thank you for that link... I will forward her all the stuff folks have suggested as well as my own ideas..... again, shes not a "big girl" nor is she skinny; shes more like the "robust " women you see in Renaissance paintings or Roman statues....

The Bersa is kind of heavy for her and she has trouble racking the slide. I am thinking of getting her a Ruger LCR 38 +p. Any ladies carry one on a FlashBang or similar on body holster?
My sister-in-law has carried one of those for about a year now. She's now looking for a semi auto. She found that the cylinder on the LCR dug into her side too much. Has your wife considered a poly frame 9mm or .380 such as the Kahr PM9, CM9, P380, S&W Shield, Glock 42, Ruger LC9, LCP, Keltec P3AT, etc.? Most of those are as light or lighter than the LCR and they're flatter and therefore easier and more comfortable to carry.
