CDNN Purchase

I haven't, but I've seen that topic come up a lot on here. search CDNN and I bet you'll find a ton of blogs about them.

If they grade used guns the same they grade used surplus magazines I'd say you've nothing to worry about. But I've only bought new guns from them. Great service.

Have yet to buy anything from them; their prices seem good. I can't see the sense in buying from a mail-order company based in the city I live in...

I have bought from them once before. Pistol was priced right and was just as described. Would not hesitate to buy from them again.

I haven't a bought a firearm from them, but always had great service when buying mags and such.

I have bought a few guns from them. If anything, they underestimate the condition. If they say very good, it probably looks brand new.

CDNN is a good company to buy from and you will get an item that is as described. They have a good reputation and don't have anything to gain from selling substandard stuff.

Bought a couple of shotguns and handguns from them in the past. All experiences have been perfect.

I've purchased 3 new handguns and a ton of new magazines from them. They are one of the best companies out there to deal with. Their shipping is fast and cheap and they have always delivered even more than was expected. Buy with 100% confidence.

Just ordered a scorpion pistol from them. Great service and very friendly on the phone. They made it easy.

I have purchased accessories and ammo several times from them but never a firearm. They are excellent. Fast service, good prices, and always throwing in freebies. They do give a C&R discount if you send it to them but the % is different for every category of stuff.

I've bought new firearms and both new and surplus accessories from them. They are a completely honest and reliable operation.

Here's one thing I don't get about CDNN -- they're almost always the cheapest on any given firearm, SO WHY DO THEY MAKE IT SO DARN DIFFICULT TO FIND OUT THEIR PRICE ON ANYTHING? No prices or even firearm listings on their web site. Their catalog lists SOME prices but not all. You have to call to find out prices... and their true inventory. Half the time, they have guns that aren't even listed in their catalog for sale.

What gives? They should be blasting their prices everywhere. Everyone thinks Bud's is the cheapest place to order your guns from -- and it isn't. CDNN beats them most of the time.

A couple things harmon. First, on many new firearms the CDNN price is below the manufacturer's minimum advertised price, so if they were to advertise it they would lose that brand. A lose-lose proposition for all.

Second, some lawyer put the fear of god into CDNN regarding perception of online gun sales, which resulted in the long practice of not having any guns on their website. That has now changed. They now have an online-viewable version of their print catalog that includes guns for sale and some prices. AFAIK they still don't list handgun prices online, which is because some credit card processor decreed that would indicate illegal gun sales and they would lose CC processing if they did so, which would probably cut half their business. They had some serious problems with CC processing companies a few years ago, details of which were posted in their catalogs (I think late 2007, could be wrong) and I'm sure their current policy represents their judgment of the balance between customer friendliness and not getting run out of business by losing CC processing.

Third, a large share of their business is "liquidation" of out of production models, special editions that didn't sell well, etc. so by nature they frequently have small to very small lots of certain models that are permanently gone once sold.

I've bought 2 new rifles and used pistol from CDNN, and when I'm in the market for something I always check them first. I've had nothing but good experiences with them, and the used pistol I bought was at least as good as their description if not a bit better. The size of the liquidation portion of their business means that they usually have an decent offering of interesting rare or unique firearms.

I got two CZ-82's from them last year. Condition was better than I expected. No issues, very easy to deal with.

However while they do have the lowest prices generally, I live in Texas so I have to pay sales tax. For my last purchase, I found an out of state dealer (Impact in Odgen, Utah) that matched their price. Just that saved me >$70.

I live in Texas also, but I have found that it can still be to my advantage to pay the sales tax, especially since my FFL only charges $10. I've bought two used pistols -- better than described -- and a new shotgun. Very satisfied with condition, price, and service.
