As soon as I get off from work I'll be heading to my favorite candy store and
perhaps buy a firearm. At the very least (not enough money to buy) I'll hit
the local range if they are open.

What is everyone else doing that is firearm related to celebrate the 4th?

I was looking forward to purchasing an SA MC Operator after I fanagled it with my eyeballs and paws for a good hour. I went to the bank to withdraw cash so I could save a few bucks with the cash discount price but when I got back, someone had purchased it and was long gone :fire: .

At least that is "one more firearm on the street" so I can't be totally dissapointed in the overall scheme of things. The local store recently got an order of 16 FN Herstal FS2000 bullpup "things" and they all sold within two weeks too :what: I didn't even have a chance to handle one of those interesting rifles.

I'll have to wait until the next order comes in (for the SA 1911) so I get to sit and stew for the 4th. Can't do traditional fireworks legally either since they legislated that tradition away from our city since "some kid somewhere maybe burnt his house down sometime, somehow".

I bought a Winchester 1300 last week, and later today I expect to go to my brother's and see how it works against jack-booted milk jugs.

Remember, every time you buy a gun God kills a terrorist. Please, think of the terrorists.

I picked up my Luger today as a Forth of July present. Before I get flamed for buying a foreign gun today let me say that I think this is a perfect gun for the 4th of July. It represents an oppressive facist country that we bit** slapped with freedom.

Sounds like some good buys.

Well there were no Springers in stock that I wanted and the SP101 was a little
too high for what I wanted to pay......
.....and wouldn't you know it, it rained while I was at the store and kept raining.
I mean Noah's Ark kind of rain. Oh well I just went home and ran my silicone
rag over a few of em.

Before anyone says anything I was wanting to go to the outdoor range by my
place... just seemed more American. :D

I'd hope the gunshops weren't open and their folks were out celebrating.

We had 6 folks over to my place shooting and taught a new shooter how to shoot!

Well, I didn't buy a gun, as I am still paying on my two latest acquisitions, a Kimber Tactical Ultra II and stainless 4" Ruger GP-100. :D BUT! I did go to the range yesterday with the Ruger MkIII and about 240 rounds of .22LR. I blew through about 140 of that..would have stayed longer but it was gettin' hot and rain was comin'...in fact, it was pourin' down before I even got home from the range. But boy, was it fun. The fella who loaned me the Ruger said when I shot it I'd want to get one. And he's right! A buddy of mine was also there at the range, and he let me blow through a few mags of 9mm with his Glock (I think it was a G19). Maybe it was just me being used to shooting the .22 that day, but that 9mm had some kick to it...or maybe it was the fact that the Glock 19 weighs almost a pound less than my Ruger P89. But oh yeah, much gun fun was had on the 4th here. God bless Texas, and America, too. :D

Bought myself a .17 HMR and a S&W Sigma .40 :D Then headed down to the range and shot a few of my arsenal for the afternoon.

hso,

It was still early when I went in (around 3 pm) and everyone was having a
good time talking and buying.

dleong,

Good enough in my book and sadly more than I was able to do.

Put in an order to the CMP for an M1 Garand a few days early. Guess I could have waited to let it coincide with the 4th.

Naw. No I couldn't :D

My last one was shipped on D-Day so I guess that will have to make up for my glitch this time.

I went out to the range this Fourth. I'd have bought osmethign there but I'm both out of state and light of pockets right now.

And holy crap, why didn't any tell me that .45 atuo was so darn expensive?

I just got the cops called on us. Appaerently the comunity where my wifes parents are located has a time SET for fireworks. We violated this time. ( it was like 1130 or so. A kindly deputy pulled up,talked for a bit. Did not comment on the CQB on my hip, and went about his way. We proceded to light bottle rockets with the stick broke off, and jammed into full pudding cups. Ah...the chocolate messiness.

Did it early on friday, bought a Reproduction of a 1858 Remington New model Army cap and ball revolver

Went and had a brand new Fred Bear Element built to my specs on the 4th and then today I went down and had them start putting together a new stevens 243 win. w/simmons scope that i pick up tomorrow. Great 4th.
