So i went into wally world the other day (hoping they had some ammo) and saw some Center Point scopes. They seem like a good deal for what they come with. It seems to be a new company so my question is does anyone have any experience with these scopes? Anyone use them or have comments about them?
 
Optics are pretty decent but they just fall apart on me. They are popular with Airgunners but I haven't had any luck really and can't see how they could handle a spring pistol air rifle.
 
I purchased one a few years ago...still use it on my 300 Magnum. I got the 4x16x40 power scope, seems to hold zero with the abuse I put it though. Yeah, it's not the best option, but I've put lots of bullets down the pipe and it's decent enough to drop deer with.
 
I have one on my Savage 93 17HMR zero problems and works great for me.
Are there better sure but for the money hard to beat.
 
I put one of the red/green dot versions on a M/44 7.62X54 mounted forward of the action in 'scout' configuration and it's held up well so far with a couple of hundred rather stiff handloads.

Crossman is the marketer, and of course they're Chinese, but they DO appear well done............I figured that for fifty bucks it was worth a try!

What the hell kind of batteries do these things use? I have the same sight as you and ive tried 2 or 3 types of button batteries and none seem to fit correctly or work.
 
I have two of them and they seem to be holding up just fine. One is on a 30-06, and the other is on a bolt action 22... both over a year old, and both ahve seen their fair share of shots... holds zero... no complaints... I'd say good ENTRY LEVEL mil dot scope...

i got mine from wally as well, i have the 4-16x40 on my remington 30-06 and it have hold zero ever since. it's a great value. plus you can zero it and use re-zero feature to put the numbers to "0" so mo matter how much you move it, you can always dial your original zero by putting the numbers to "0" ;)

Great scope for the price.

ETA: i didn't like the rings that came with, too high for me.
 
I have one on a 10/22 and one on an AR , no problems with either of them , not as clear as my SS 10x , but for the price I can't complain.
 
I have three of them and plan on buying more. One is on a 17HMR, the other two are both on .308's..... both of the 308's have held zero with 250 to 300 rounds fired thru each.
 
Have a couple 4-16x40mm IR Mil Dot's myself they work well, very well for the investment. One is on a 308...the other is 30-06. No problems with tracking and holding zero. They get dark at 14 and 16x is only usable in daylight. The 10x setting is great though and is also the setting to use for proper use of the Mil Dot.
 
I've bought two the 4-16 models from Walmart for $69 and had to return them both. The first one I laid on a table and was running through the knobs up and down to see adjustment range, etc on them. The last 10-15 moa of tavel would send the reticle up and to the right at the same time. The replacement did not do this (out of the box at least). Mounted it to a rifle (50BMG :what:) and look several shots. They hold zero and the optics are fairly clear. This one when running through the elevation again when back at home (I wanted to see how much up and down I had after the zero) it started doing the same thing as the first one did out of the box. It actually still would have worked, I had 30moa of travel before the it started moving to the right (on the last 6-7moa of movement) but desided to get my $74 (after tax) back and put it toward a real scope. The three have been through (third is on a friend's 22lr) all had 54-56moa of travel, the knobs would travel much further but only recticle would only move for that amount. The last 10moa or so up and down does nothing on all three. I think two of them had less than 2moa of travel on windage in one direction. The other warning is that electrical tape stuff they put on inside of rings melts and creates a mess of the scope. Walmart has 90days cash back which is great, so experiment did not really cost me anything other than my time.
 
I have one on an especially hard-kicking 30'06 and it seems like a good value (though I may put the 4-16x model on it instead). Really liked the rings and illuminated mildot reticle. I'm not a 500yd hunter either, so I can't vouch for the light-gathering quality.
 
First negatives I've ever heard of them. They generally get very good reviews. Still, they seem like a good value if you just HAVE to go extreme economy.

You do realize the first one he bought was a lemon...followed by another that he PUT ON A 50 BMG!! You don't put a $80 scope on a 50 BMG rifle...I'm shocked the lenses didn't fall out of it.

People like myself, don't have the funds sometimes to put a $300 scope on a rifle of the same value. All we want to do is to be able to kill a deer or put a hole in paper at reasonable distances...100-300 yards. Sometimes all it takes is a el-cheapo scope on our el-cheapo rifles...our freezers are never empty. :D
 
Good call bang_bang. Thanks for all the replies i think ill pick one up and give it a go. Ill only be using it on a remington 700 .308 or a ruger 10/22. After all like some have said i dont have 300 to spend on a scope either, id rather put that toward a new gun.:D
 
I have 2, one on my ar and the other on a 10/22. Both have held up well for the last 18 months or so. Around 600 rounds of 223 and several thousand out of the 10/22. Nice clear glass, and an adjustable end bell for paralax are great for the price-point, the illuminated objective I could live without. Even on a low setting the illumination blurs the reticle for me, probably more useful for low light hunting than the paper punching I do with it.
 
have 2 of them, both are the 3-9x, one on a marlin 60, the other on a savage cub, for my daughters. they have both held their zero all summer- good scope for the money. I would sure get another, especially for a rimfire.
 
I gotta' agree with everyone here. I have 3 4-16X40's. I did have to return one because the screw on the elevation knob stripped out. Two are dedicated to my Savage MKII F & MKII FV .22LR's. The other one is a spare & I put it on different rifles when I need to. It's about 2 years old & has been on my Tikka .223 & .308 Varmint rifles, my Marlin 30-30 my AR15 & my 522 Speedmaster & right now is mounted on my Remington 597. The scopes have decent glass & always return to zero. I also have a 3-9X32 on a air rifle & it seems to work pretty good too.
