Central Ohio gunsmiths....

I do not have a need for a gunsmith right now, but I may need/want one in the future. I used to go to Kurt Wickmann, but with all the personal issues he has had to deal with, I hate to bother him.

So, my questions is: does anyone know of a reputable gunsmith in the central Ohio area(Columbus or vicinity)?

He does very good work. I gave him my Gold Cup trphy and he worked it over for me I'm very happy with the results.

I'm in the same boat. I want to get my 1911 refinished but don't know where in Columbus to go. Does anyone know if Vance's does refinishing?

You might also think about sending your firearm to fellow THR/TFLer George Stringer. http://www.stringergunsmithing.com

Remember, you don't need to go through an FFL to send a gun out to be repaired or customized.

I've had good luck with Carl Henderson at Obetz Guns. He owns/runs a fully equipped gun shop out of his garage (evenings and weekends only right now). He's experienced (>20yrs), competent, fast and reasonably priced.

He works wonders on Cowboy Action pistols and rifles.
If he doessn't want or can't do the work, I would trust his recommendation for other gunsmiths in the area.
