Has anyone tried these? Seems like a solution to a non problem but I am guessing they would reduce recoil and flash. Might be good to load up for the wife when I am traveling.

thats a good idea i haven't even seen these for sale any where i heard people have had problems with feeding in pumps and autos but for a sxs looks like a good idea

I have these loaded in my wife"s rabbit ear coach gun. At room to room distance they are all she needs to inflict damage on a perp with limited recoil.

whats the recoil like? less than a 20 ga.? my wife and recoil dont mix i have been really looking for a hd system for her shes a petite i had her try out a 20 gauge coach gun she cried which sucked i have been trying to ease her in to shooting and plinking to say the least that didn't help should have known thought she could handle it. any how whats the recoil like outta these

Excellent for quail in my old coach gun

I have been using the mini 7 and a-halfs on quail in my old stevens double coach gun here in Florida brush and they work very well . I also have the buck shot loads in it that I keep loaded for home defense. The seven and a halfs is like a 3 inch 410. The buck shot has several#4 buck stacked in with # 1 buck which is going about 1250 feet per sec. In the house it would be quite adequate for home defense and they will go through 3 layers of sheet rock and some. The recoil is like shooting something between a 410 and 20 guage. Very pleasant for this 69 year old ; and, my wife likes it too. I was reluctant to try them but was pleasantly surprised by the way they functioned . I ordered A case of the 7 and a half, and about 8 boxes of the buckshots. They do not work in a pump gun, but now that I have retired from teaching, I use them a great deal on my farm to kill varmints as well.I bought mine from Natchez shooters supply

Correction

Mine are the AGUILA made in Mexico and are 1 1/2" shells not 2". I read today on a different site that the 2" shells work fine in the Winchester 1300.

I have used the AGUILA 1.5" in my Mossy 590A1 and they will feed if you keep the shotgun level and don't fast rack.

I'll have to try the 2". They might be fun.

Interesting. It might make a nice HD load for recoil sensitive folks.

Does anyone know the actual length of the unfired shells? They look to have some sort of odd closure, neither a roll crimp or a star crimp. It might be kind of iffy whether or not they would add to capacity in a tube fed gun. If they are close to 2" unfired, that isn't that much different from a standard star crimped 2 3/4" shell, which is around 2 1/4".

Supposedly the Aguila minishells have problems in anything but a Winchester 1300, but these guy look to be a bit longer.

Been PLAYING with the Aquila minislugs around the property in O/u skeet guns . With a 28" or 30" barrel they are not loud and I don't get a sonic crack. Wonder of wonders the work very well in a like new Savage 311H with 28" Modified and modified chokes I found last year. They cross around 40 yards in it because they have crossed over a couple inches from a 30 yard dead on both barrels. I'm glad the Savage worked so well for these critter getters as I didn't like banging the Win 101 Skeet gun around the ranch! Neighbors 1000' away don't get riled by a few of these!

reliability

100% reliable in a break action single shot. For a pump, the lifter is the key. 870s have a solid lifter and seems to feed fine. My Mossberg 835 has a short turkey foot lifter that is just the right distance away to allow the shell to drop down from the tube and get stuck instead of lifted up into the chamber. If I turn it 90 degrees so the ejector port is facing up, they feed reliably since the short pronged lifter is now on the side. While they are great to get an extra shot in the tube, I am glad I played with them in several different formats at the range.
