Century Arms ejection problem

I have been working on a friend of mine's Century Arms Cetme HK .308 clone with the black furniture. He picked it up cheap at a show and now we know why. I fails to eject properly each time and the nose of the case jams and is chewed up on the receiver. Took apart and cleaned extracter, looks good. Extracter has very slight wear at the top. I've tried extracting empty and live cases by hand and it still doesn't throw them out like it should. I've also polished the chamber and tried different mags. All to no avail. Same results. I want to fix it for my friend, but I'm running of what to do. Has anyone else ran across this problem? Any advise would be much appreciated.

Check the up/down play at the front of the grip frame. Excessive vertical play can prevent the ejector, which is in the grip frame, from aligning itself with the case head correctly.

Excess bolt gap can be a problem. Cock the (empty) gun... let it slam forward, don't ride it down. Pull the trigger. Turn rifle upsidedown and measure the bolt gap between carrier and head. Should be .010" ~ .018".

There's a boat load more... but these tend to be high on the list of CETME feed problem causes.

In addition, you need to get an armorer's manual for an HK G3/ HK 91. These guns are significantly different from what you may be used to working with and can cause lots of frustration without understanding the differences. The manuals are available from various sources on the web.

The first thing you need to check is your ejector; making sure it is not broken/damaged/ or out of spec. The next thing to check is your bolt gap, and based on your description,
your bolt gap is most likely too SMALL. Excessive bolt gap will generally not cause the stoppage described. What you're getting is an under-function. Meaning the bolt is not cycling fully to the rear. Polishing the chamber will do nothing for you as the chamber is fluted. With your bolt gap being too small, the gun is essentially locking and not delaying like it should. To correct this you'll need to install or have installed larger rollers. HK rollers might work, but you'll need to do some research on that.
