Here's a few things to check.
1...Is the chamber coated with varnish? Some types of 7.62 x 39 rounds are painted with varnish. If the rifle is run really hot, the heat in the chamber can cause the varnish on the round to melt and coat the chamber. It won't come out with a regular cleaning.
2...Is the extractor functioning correctly? Is it packed with crud under the lip? Is the spring good? It may not be consistantly catching and holding the empty casing.
3...Is the gas port clean? With the recoil spring out, will the bolt stroke back and forward smoothly without forcing it? If the bolt does not stroke all of the way back or does so weakly, the shell casing hooked under the extractor will not hit the ejector forcefully enough to kick it out.
4...Is the gas block lined up with the gas port in the barrel? Shine a strong lite down the barrel and look thru the gas block. You should be able to see a dot of lite. You can also check it with a wire.
5...Is the ejector in good shape? Rounded or broken? It's the part that sticks out on the left rail.
For the symptoms that you're describing, one or more of those things has to be bad. #1 thru #3 are the most likely. #4 is the least likely. #5 is a possibilty. If the rail with the ejector (Left side) was installed to far to the rear, it will have weak if any ejection. Keep yer powder dry, Mac.
