Not very active with the THR group but I find myself often turning to this site for answers. So now is the time to jump in. I have been reloading for a SKS for a while using RL-7 and H322 with good results. I have read loading data that indicates the new CFE Black is a good powder for the 7.62x39. My question is, has anyone in THR land tried this powder in the the SKS? Thank you in advance for your responses.

I bought a pound back in the fall to try out but have yet to work up any loads with it for my SKS rifles. Not much if any first hand data out there with it being used in the 7.62 x 39 but it does seem to meter very well from all reports.

The velocity numbers on the Hodgdon site are from a 24" barrel so that number is pretty moot till I run some loads over the chrono.

So far H-4198 is the most accurate powder I have found for 7.62x39 R, it is low flash but does not meter well compared to Accurate 1680 which for me is less accurate and has a lot of muzzle flash but it meters well. I would love to find the best of all worlds.
