I was wearing My Ruger 44 magnum when this happened so hope this qualifies as gun related. Please move if needed but I can only hope all members see this and don't repeat my mistake

PLEASE BUY AND USE CHAINSAW CHAPS

If You use a chainsaw and I am sure almost all of us here do.Please learn from my accident this Morning.
Thank goodness for cell phones.I was able to call 911 and be rescued about 1 mile back in My woods.
I had the ATV but winch was hooked to tree I just had felled and injury was such that I opted to call 911 instead of trying to unattach winch and self rescue to home where parents are next door , they where on the phone and all I got was busy signal .Father has Gator and could have come for me. Instead I bound the wound and applied pressure and waited. Sliced clean to the knee cap don't know how many stitches but just read while searching for chaps 120 was quoted as average number for chainsaw injury. I am sure mine is way less than that but the cut was nasty and ugly as well as bloody.
I had always intended to buy chaps but have used chainsaws 30 plus year with no major incidents only close calls and minor stuff and thought it wouldn't happen to Me.. PLEASE BUY CHAPS, I just ordered mine a bit too late. Did I mention BUY AND USE CHAPS.
Watch this video and PLEASE ORDER CHAPS from somewhere , anywhere.
