Chamber adaptors?

7.62x51 for comparison. They seem to fit .22 shorts, but the firing pin wouldn't impact the rim to set them off, and the diameter is larger than an 8mm/.30 cal rifle of any sort I have on hand other than 7.5 Swiss.

Smoothbore.

I think they might be for turning a .45 ACP firearm into a .22 hornet or something, but damned if I know.

I got a stainless steel adapter to shoot 22 Hornets in a 22-250 Lone Eagle,made by MCA Sports ,they do custom builds also.Are they all the same? I'm wanting them to build me one fo a Bubba Mosin Nagant to fire a 300 Wisper,or 7.62x25 Tok.would be verry quiet.Check out their web.

Will a shotgun primer fit ? It is a gallery or short range adapter, maybe a round ball and a shotshell primer.The cases look short enough to be 7.62x39.

They appear to be 1950's .22 adaptors. They were issued to pilots as part of their survival kit, if they had to punch out over enemy territory. The idea being that they could use a .22 throught their 1911's to pot a rabbit or something.
As choppers became more prevolent, they were dropped from the survival kits, as the probability of "immediate" rescue made them impractical

Vaarok, I believe those are actually part of the adaptor kits (known as the M3, M4, and M5 Trainers) they made for 30-cal Browning MGs; they slide into the forward half of a "case" that remains linked in the belt that is fed through the gun, while the back halves feeds through the T-slot and are ejected after firing. Apparently, one of the most popular punishments for screwing up during training on these was to be volunteered to punch the empty rimfire cases out of these, reloading them, then re-belting them for the next day's training. Yep, I asked on another board and some knowledgeable people confirmed it with the same story, they're 1919 adaptor thingies.

You are missing the front spring collets and the clips that hold them in pairs so they can be extracted from the MG belt.







BTW: I've never seen or heard of a ".22 adaptor" issued to pilots to shoot .22 RF in a 1911 CF pistol!

Most pilots in the 50's were issued S&W .38 Special revolvers. The bail-out kit contained an Ithaca M6 .22 Hornet/.410 O&U survival gun.

There was also a GI issue .45 ACP shot-shell intended for survival use, but no .22 adaptors that I ever heard of.

1919 mg adapters

I have ten of them,got them from gun parts and new what they were when I bought them.I think I paid $1.00 for 10.never had the rest of the adapter.
