Thinking about having my crappy 30.06 barrel in my M1 Garand switched to .308 Win. These guys seem to have the best price. Around $300. to install and headspace a Douglas Premium barrel. Anybody ever do business with them? How was their service and or workmanship, were you satisfied? Any help would be appreciated. TIA!!!

Been to their shop a few times, ordered parts and ammo...generally good folks to work with. Most of my purchases have been Bullseye related: my gun-ho pistol box & accessories; Kart barrel; Eley & Lapua ammo; Magnus bullets, etc.

Never had any work done by them though...and no experience with rifle related stuff.

I order a rifle, parts, and ammo from them. I have not had any problem with them.

Just ordered from them last Friday.

Had planned on stopping by their shop on the drive back up to OH from the SHOT show and purchase a rifle. They were all ready to do the buy but I found a problem with OH a couple of days before heading down to SHOT. OH residents can only purchase longguns over the counter in bordering states and tranport them back into OH (law goes for ammo too). Farther out and you need an FFL transfer. Instead, just ordered through an FFL. Should be in tomorrow or Thursday. Walther KK300.

I've ordered Anschütz parts from them before with prompt service and no issues.

Switch it, but keep it in 30/06 and buy all the Greek HXP ammo you can get your hands on. Couple of years ago 7.62 was dirt cheap and the market flooded with surplus, and no good 30/06 available. Now it's just the reverse!

Thanks for the replies all. I've just never heard of them, guess I'll do it this week.

I hear ya on the ammo. I have two in 30.06 and love 'em. I'm sitting on a pile of .308 purchased 2-3 years ago for the FAL. Mostly Port, Aussie and S. African. Thats why I thought .308 would be the way to go.
