How soon after moving are you required to notify ATF if you have NFA items?

Do you need to submit another form/ get approval from CLEO again or just contact someone?

Did you move in-state or across state lines? If across state lines you're supposed to notify them before you do it. In-state technically you don't have to do anything, but most folks file the 5320.20 anyway.

I don't know how soon. My form 4 states: "Unless currently licensed under the Gun Control Act, the registrant shall notify NFA Branch, BATFE, Washington D.C. 20226, in writing, of any change of address in Item 2a." Item 2a is the address box.

I don't know what the first part about being licensed under the GCA means.

In case you need it, my letter looked like this:

Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives
NFA Branch
244 Needy Road
Suite 1250
Martinsburg, WV 25405

As per the requirements of ATF Form 4, the purpose of this letter is to inform the ATF, in writing, that I will be making a change of address to Item 2a on two separate ATF Form 4s.

One ATF Form 4 is stamped [ID stamp at top of Form], and concerns a [make] [model] suppressor, .45 caliber, serial number XXXXXX.

The other Form 4 is stamped [same as above]

The previous address listed in 2a was:
[previous address]

The new address will be:
[new address]

I may be contacted via mail or by phone at XXXXX if you have any questions.

Thank you for your time,

A few weeks later they sent me a letter saying they had received my change of address and they had updated their records. I carry a copy of that letter with the copies of the Form 4s when I go shoot.
