With the advent of a more gun friendly majority in state politics there have been two important changes for us here.
The law concerning "brandishing" a weapon did state that it was illegal to display a weapon if one felt threatened. Now a weapon may be displayed or "brandished" in order to let the bad guys see that you are armed.
"Antis" had forced a rule change which prohibited carry of a weapon in the state house, or on the grounds, by anyone other than a police officer. That has now been done away with. It is still a partially open issue for rules committee work but the feeling is that on open carry will be disallowed and CCW will be OK.
As anticipated the "antis" are screeching like barn owls about the former issue. I love the sight of a dismayed anti-gunner on the news. They still haven't gotten the message that citizens have no wish to see any further loss of rights.

Cool! Great news!

Can you post the text of the new laws so we can see exactly how they're worded?

Outstanding. I can only dream of living in a state as free as New Hampshire... unfortunately I am tied down here in OK because of my job. I visited up there once and really enjoyed it. I even considered moving. It was nice being able to walk around with a revolver on my hip without asking permission from some government official.

Unfortunately in Oklahoma, we have a strong anti-liberty donut munchers' lobby that fights against every effort to relax our gun carry laws, and none of the politicians want to be seen as "anti law enforcement," so not very many are willing to stand up to them.

We almost got open carry with a license passed last year, which would have been a step in the right direction (though I could do without the license requrement), but our POS former governor vetoed it because of pressure from the police unions.

And then these jerks try to tell us that "we don't make the laws, we just enforce them." What a load of BS.

Be glad you don't have anything like that going on up there in the Free State.

The message actually has been received; unfortunately, the very idea of commoners having rights enrages Marxists.

Faux-Marxists you mean. Original Marxism involves commoners overthrowing elites, after all.
