How many "generations" of Black Talon/Ranger has there been? From what I can gather, there is the original Black Talon, the Ranger SXT, the Ranger T, and the Ranger Bonded. Do I have that right?

It is probably a trade secret since things get "tweeked" from time to time. For practical purposes I would say the BT SXT, Ranger SXT, and Ranger T-Series. There are tons of other pistol, rifle and shot gun rounds in the Ranger family that are not from the SXT design like the ones above.

The Bonded Ranger ammo is taking the place of the Ranger Partition Gold line.

I would dearly like to have a chart of all the Winchester bullets in order of chronological appearance on the market, with pictures alongside. Even better would be if the materials from which they were made could be listed also. I would like to know when they decided to introduuce the Supreme SXT and when they went back to the original barbed design of the Ranger T.

The Ranger SXT was closer to the original BT. The Ranger T-Series was developed to overcome the flaws that the BT had such as dependence on velocity to expand.

The BT was like all of the older 147 gr 9mm. If it did not reach the magical velocity it did not expand. Since the BT came factory lubed with lubalox it performed better than some of the other first generation 147gr ammo. In other words I would feel confident carrying BT in my Colt 1911 9mm but not in a Kel Tec P11 or G26.

The T-Series has a larger window of velocity that it will work in. It often performs just as good and even better in some compact or sub compact guns than it does in full size duty weapons.

The Supreme bullet differs from Ranger (T-series) in more ways than just being fang-less. The Supreme bullet is not considered a good performer. Even the original BT is ballistically inferior to the Ranger T-series in performance and the the T-series has improved on the design. For example the T-series hollowpoint is larger and deeper.

From a cartridge collector viewpoint, what is the original Black Talon 45 ACP worth? I have 1 & 3/4 boxes of the 45 ACP BT that I bought right after they announced the removal from the civilian market. It cost $1.00 per cartridge when I bought it. Has the value kept up with inflation?

If you look at gunbroker.com you will see what the BT goes for. If I find a agency that has BT stashed away I will give them two cases of Ranger T-Series for every case of BT. Police Chiefs love this because they can double their stock and get new ammo at no cost other than shipping.
