While in the midst of a defensive marksmanship class, my Breek Arms War Hammer charging handle bit the dust. First, the pin on the right claw sheared off. About an hour later, the pin on the left claw suffered the same fate. Fortunately, I was able to find both claws, and had access to an extra charging handle to finish the course.

Right up to the point that it failed, I loved this charging handle. While I have replaced it with a different model, I wouldn't mind keeping this one as a back-up. Is there a source for more reliable or robust pins that I could use to put it back together?

Thanks!

I'd call break arms and see if they will send you a couple roll pins. Or at least tell you what size to buy.

I e-mailed them with that very question the day it happened, and heard back a few days later... they sent me a new charging handle! That was unexpected, and certainly appreciated. They told me that they suspected the pins walked out rather than sheared off. I'll look for a way to prevent that with the new one.

That is good customer service right there!

You should provide us with a link!

See post #3.

Had that happen in the past. A pencil tipped punch and a small peen on each end will prevent the pins from walking out.
