"Made" is a pretty tricky term when it comes to where something is manufactured, and what was done where.

My Baby Eagle said "made in Israel", leaving out that 90% of it was shipped to Israel from the Tanfoglio plant.

It would be a shame if this gun is FEG parts mainly because that would be fooling the public into purchasing a $200 Feg for $350, just because they thought it was "made in USA".

Its as "Made in the USA" as any other handgun or product. Most US manufacturers are really assemblers and farm lots of manufacturing out to countries with lower labor prices.

BTW that extra money gets you significantly nicer grips, safeties, and sights than a standard FEG. Plus you get the Daly warrantee which is worth some dough.

I'm still waiting for this to come out.
The pics on CD's site show a nice looking gun.
However there was a pic posted in an earlier thread about this showing the gun with huge white letters across the side like it's a billboard or something.
One gun, I would buy. One gun I would not.
Which one is going to be on my dealer's shelf?

Hey, if the gun comes with $150 or so of extras, right on.

Personally, the sights on that thing would be the first thing to go. Ashleys are good combat sights, but alot of people like the Hipower for it's accuracy, which you give up some with the Ashley system.

I personally don't care where something is made, unless the price is supposed to reflect the country of origin. That is the expectation I was speaking of. An Feg assembled here isn't any better than an Feg assembled by Feg, so not worth more money. So we're back to extras.

A lot of people like the High Power because it's a Combat Pistol... so the Ashleys are a perfect choice for it. But you are right in that an option should be given. Something on par with the Ashleys but in a can also be a target sight. Such as Slant Pros.
Between the choices I'd take the Ashleys. They are as accurate and any other sight in my opinion. I'd put them on everything if I could.

I sort of agree that its not worth $500 if its just an FEG with better sights. And when we saw the roll mark on the prototype.. yikes.

However, given inflation, market share and other high points of Capitalism, what's so bad about FEG making a few extra bucks?

Let's see.. the stock FEG I have has had $100 in extras added to it, namely an extended safety and a monogrip. That adds up to a $300 pistol. If ashleys (installed) ran me another $150.. what would the gun be worth?

I think the FEG is one of the best buys you can get on the market, and thats saying a lot in this day and age.

FEG is not making an extra profit. The importer with the huge roll stamp is.

I doubt those Croation boys are getting a bigger cut per gun from Springfield, either.
