i was thinking about getting either a Charles Daly Field Hunter VR-MC or a Charles Daly Field Tactical for both trap and deer hunting. Could anyone tell me about the quality and dependability of these guns. I am new to the gun market and don't want to get ripped off.

Thanks

CD shotguns are plain and solid guns, and they work fine. But you would do better to get something more mainstream like remington or mossberg due to parts availability. The name Charles Daly has changed ownership at least twice, and I can't even so much as get an owners manual for my CD auto from the eighties.

Charles Daly has never been a gun maker. They're an importer and wholesaler. The guns have been made since the 1800s by makers as varied as Lindner in Prussia and Miroku in Japan. Now they're made in Third World countires to a price point.

Most Dalys are of decent though not superior quality.

HTH....
