I have a chance to trade a taurus 357 revolver for a 12 ga semi auto charles daly. Good idea or bad idea?

Depends on whether you like your Taurus or not. There isn't much I'd be willing to trade for a CD. I had one for a short period that made it back to the factory 3 times. I hated that gun.

Do t know much on the newer CD semi's but I have an old Charles daly o er under from the 60's.. And it's very good quality

Parts are pretty scarce considering they went out of business a few years ago. If something does happen to it, there will be no place to send it.

Many of the late Charles Daly guns are from Turkey and do not have a good track record.

The early guns (1970's era) are very good and of high quality.

I'd be interested in the Taurus revolver and you could always make a cash offer for the CD shotgun. :D

PM me the model/condition info if interested.

Yes your right.. Mine is a 1965 Charles daly superior over under.. Made by BC miruku, they still currently make the browning citoris back then and even to this day.

I have a gun a side x side 12 ga sold originally in the USA under the Liberty name but is made in Turkey and a really fine shot gun. Now after Liberty USA went under Daly picked them up then he folded and now these are part of CZ line with only the branding changed for the company selling them. Mine by the way is a 24" barrel with double hammer/trigger but only made one year at least sold in the USA. Now CZ sells them in 20", 28" and 30" while Daly sold only the 20" and 28" if I remember correctly. The Turkish made shot guns are really fine guns too.

The problem with Turkish made guns is which manufacture made that gun, O/U, autoloader, or pump.

Some are very good and some are very bad.
