Hi folks,I've read good and bad about charters new stuff.I bought a brand new undercover at my local shop.First of all,I am a NRA Certified Training Counselor and Instructor.(a training counselor trains new instructors)in Pistol,Personal Protection,Home Firearm Saftey and Chief Range Saftey Officer. In my classes I have seen the best and worst of the whole gamit when it comes to personal protection firearms.
Give this little gun a chance. In the store it felt a little stiff, rough, and very, very tight.I am a sucker for any snubbie so I had to try it.After all I could trade it back(or fanagle somthin) if I didn't like it.The case it came in had the fired case from the factory with a test date of 10/06.So I took it home, played with it,oiled it,dry fired it and to the range we go.
The first shot was stiff, with heavy trigger.Accuracy was poor.Recoil not bad with the full rubber stocks on it.This thing is tiny. After about 20 rnds of white box Win.130gr,it started to loosen up.Trigger got better and accuracy started to tighten. The grittyness of the trigger all but disapeared.Stepping up the pace, the next 30 rnds were point shooting and rapid fire 2,3,and4 shot bursts.Accuracy kept getting better.Took it home and cleaned it.Tightened up screws that had loose'nd.The next day,I had to do some work at the range so I didn't have much time but did shoot 3 cylinder full of 38sp federal 158 gr swchp +p even though it is not recomended for it.Shot it very accurate(for a snub)at 21".Handled it just fine.Lock up still very tight.Dry fired it at home for 2 days here and there, trigger got better.Took it out today and put 100 rnds of winwbox 130gr through it and man what a shooter for a snubbie.Lock up is as tight as a drum, recoil is very manageable for such a small revolver, and is shootin ragged holes at 7 yds. Also it is a great point shooter and action is very fast.I love this little thing.Screws did not loosen this time out.It is ment for strictly up close and personal buisness and it does it's job great. At 275.00 I paid for it I would buy it again.
Just my opinion, Vickspank
