I own one and truly love it! However, to answer your question, it will not accept .45 Auto Rim Cartridges. No moon clips are used on the CA .45acp and when loaded the .45acp rounds fit flush into the cylinder. My son has my CA .45acp right now, so I cannot post a picture to show you.

Because it contains the ridges in their slots, the ejector star is very thick, and interferes with the area where the thick rim of Auto Rim cartridges is.

Interesting, any idea what the origin is? I do not know why but it makes me imagine a Victorian Era Sherlock-type character with a British Bulldog or some other similar big bore of the day.
